There are two kinds of people in our society, an extrovert or an introvert. Extroverts are people who do not panic in participating in social gatherings and never restraint themselves from interacting with larger groups around them. Introverts are people who are shy and are uncomfortable in mixing up with outsiders. Introvert people always try and stick to a certain group rather than interacting with newer ones.

When a person has fear of being a part of social event or avoid going to public gathering or meeting new people such cases are referred to as social anxiety and they sometime need professional help to recover from such ailment. They have to seek professional help for social anxiety treatments. Stammering, hating public meeting, shying, blushing and wanting to be alone are few basic symptoms of being an anxiety patient.

The progress rate depends on the person as how soon he is willing to shed away the problems and live a normal life. Initially the person is encouraged to speak up by making him as comfortable as possible and his progress is monitored by the flow of the speech with each session that is carried out. Finally with each passing session the person becomes more confident to face larger gathering and put up his view point in a more effective and smooth manner.

A change in lifestyle can also help in getting out of this anxiety. A person having social anxiety needs to have a control over his eating and drinking habits. Having caffeine in drinks does make you more anxious and jittery, so avoid it. Though having drinks does calm a person\’s nerves but it has bad effects on a person\’s cognitive ability and this reduces his potential to deal with anxiety. So having caffeine and drinks should be avoided by people undergoing treatment for social anxiety.

Like drinking, smoking also hampers a person\’s relaxed outlook towards life. Thus drinking and smoking should be avoided for a fast recovery. Getting adequate sleep is also a key factor required for overcoming social anxiety. One should get sufficient hours of sleep to feel fresh during the day while interacting with others and this will also suppress the outcome of any kind of anxiety.

Today due to internet there are many social networking sites that help the patient to interact with other member without having the fear of disclosing the identity. Social anxiety treatment using this latest method has seen a remarkable improvement in dealing with person having social fear and the results are quite positive.
